How is a Piccobello Dog Diaper actually made?
If you've ever asked you this question, here's the answer. We have made a little video for you explaining step by step what happens from fabric to the finished diaper.
Step by Step – From Fabric to the Finished Diaper
Take fabric to the sewing studios
First, the fabrics and other materials such as fleeces, yarns, or labels have to be taken to the sewing studios, no matter in which format the manufacturer has delivered them to us. In some cases, this a challenge...Double the diaper fabric
The diaper fabric is supplied on the roll by the knitting mill. The first step now is to unroll it, to fold the fabric in half lengthwise and wound it up again. This process is called doubling. It is necessary to cut on a double fold in the next step.Cut the dog diaper
Using a template, we draw and cut the diaper on the carefully laid fabric.Sew the absorbing inlay
Here we join the hydrophilic absorbing inlay, which is cut to fit the diaper, with a special high-tech fabric by sewing it together. Then we turn it over. The inlay is now encased in the fabric.Fix the pocket
As you see in the video the diaper pocket, cut from 3-D fabric, the so-called spacer fabric, is sewn onto the diaper blank. An additional shaped part is joined as well. A finished diaper consists of 9 layers of various materials.Finish and trim the diaper
First, the absorbent inlay and the pocket are joined. In the next process step all parts of the diaper are joined in the correct order and the diaper is trimmed completely. A specially equipped overlocker sewing machine is used for this step. The red seam is created – typical of piccobello dog diapers.Neaten the ends of seam
The ends of seam are fused with a flame. This way, no seam can open, and the diapers are neatly finished down to the last detail. Now, the piccobello diaper is almost ready.Roll up the dog diapers
Finally, the piccobello dog diapers are rolled up as you know them and packed into their boxes.Take the diapers back to the piccobello warehouse
Then the finished diapers come back to the piccobello warehouse from where your order is packed and the packages are shippedWatch the video
